What You'll Build

A complete personal brand system with a portfolio website, consistent visual identity, organized content pipeline, scheduled social media presence, and a booking link for meetings.

Prerequisites

Architecture

Framer is your home base - a portfolio site that showcases your work and links to everything else. Canva creates your visual identity that stays consistent across all platforms. Notion is your behind-the-scenes content engine where ideas become posts. Buffer schedules and publishes your social content. Calendly makes it easy for people to book time with you.

You (create in Notion) → Canva (design) → Buffer (schedule) → Social Media → Framer (portfolio) → Calendly (connect)

5 Steps

1
Framer

Build your portfolio site with Framer

~30 min

Create a clean, professional portfolio website that serves as your personal brand's home base.

  1. Start a new Framer project - pick a minimal portfolio template or start from scratch
  2. Build the essential sections: hero with your name, title, and one-sentence positioning statement. An "About" section with your story. A "Work" or "Projects" section showcasing 3-5 of your best pieces. A "Contact" section with links to social media and your Calendly booking link
  3. Add a blog or "Thinking" section if you plan to write (Framer has built-in CMS support)
  4. Make it responsive - check tablet and mobile breakpoints and adjust layouts accordingly
  5. Publish to a custom domain or use the free .framer.app subdomain to start
💡
Tip: Your portfolio homepage should answer three questions in 5 seconds: Who are you? What do you do? Why should I care? Put these above the fold.
2
Canva

Create your visual identity system in Canva

~20 min

Design a consistent visual identity that makes your brand recognizable across every platform and piece of content.

  1. Create a Brand Kit in Canva: choose 2-3 brand colors (a primary, secondary, and accent), 1-2 fonts (one for headlines, one for body text), and upload your logo or create a simple text-based one
  2. Design social media profile templates: a consistent profile photo treatment, banner images for LinkedIn/Twitter/YouTube with your name, title, and value proposition
  3. Create 3-5 social media post templates you can reuse: a quote card, a tip/insight card, a thread starter, a carousel template, and a photo + text overlay
  4. Design an email signature with your name, title, website link, and social profiles
  5. Save everything in a Canva folder called "Brand Kit" so you can access templates quickly
💡
Tip: Consistency beats creativity for personal branding. Using the same colors, fonts, and layout makes people recognize your content instantly in a crowded feed.
3
Notion

Set up content calendar in Notion

~15 min

Build a content system in Notion that turns random ideas into a consistent publishing schedule.

  1. Create a Notion database called "Content Calendar" with columns: Title, Platform (Twitter, LinkedIn, Blog, etc.), Status (Idea, Drafting, Ready, Published), Publish Date, and Content Type (post, thread, article, video)
  2. Add a second database called "Idea Bank" - a simple list where you dump content ideas as they come to you, with tags for topic and format
  3. Set up a weekly content planning view: filter the calendar to show this week's content, grouped by day
  4. Plan your first 2 weeks of content - aim for a sustainable rhythm (e.g., 3 LinkedIn posts + 1 Twitter thread per week)
  5. Create a Notion template for each content type so you can quickly draft new posts with a consistent structure
💡
Tip: Batch your content creation. Spend 1-2 hours on Sunday planning and drafting the week's content. It's more efficient and sustainable than creating daily.
4
Buffer

Schedule social posts with Buffer

~15 min

Connect your social accounts to Buffer and set up a posting schedule so your content goes out consistently without manual effort.

  1. Sign up at buffer.com and connect your social media accounts (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, etc.)
  2. Set up your posting schedule: choose the days and times you want posts to go out - Buffer will auto-publish at those times
  3. Queue your first week of content: write or paste your posts, attach images from your Canva templates, and add them to the queue
  4. Use Buffer's analytics to track which posts get the most engagement - double down on what works after 2-3 weeks of data
  5. Set a weekly reminder to refill your Buffer queue from your Notion content calendar
💡
Tip: The best posting times vary by platform, but generally: LinkedIn peaks at 8-10am weekdays, Twitter/X at 12-3pm, and Instagram at 11am-1pm. Start there and adjust based on your own analytics.
5
Calendly

Add Calendly for networking & meeting requests

~10 min

Set up Calendly so people can easily book time with you for networking, collaborations, podcast interviews, or client calls.

  1. Sign up at calendly.com and connect your Google or Outlook calendar
  2. Create 2-3 event types: a "15-min Coffee Chat" for casual networking, a "30-min Intro Call" for potential clients or collaborators, and optionally a "60-min Consulting Session" if you offer paid advice
  3. Set your availability windows - protect your deep work time by only offering meeting slots during specific hours
  4. Add your Calendly link to your Framer portfolio site (in the Contact section), your social media bios, and your email signature
  5. Customize the booking confirmation email and add a "What to expect" description so people come prepared
💡
Tip: Add buffer time between meetings (15 minutes) in Calendly's settings. Back-to-back calls are exhausting and lead to you showing up unprepared.

🎉 You're Done!

A complete personal brand system with a portfolio website, consistent visual identity, organized content pipeline, scheduled social media presence, and a booking link for meetings.
