29 October update: where Haiku 4.5 was removed
Anthropic says Haiku 4.5 was removed on 29 October from chat, Cowork and Design selectors on Free, Pro and Max, including desktop and mobile. Haiku 5.5 replaces it there. Existing chats remain, but continuing them uses Haiku 5.5. Claude Code, Team, Enterprise and API access were not affected by this selector change.

How we would evaluate it
Claude makes more sense when your job starts with several documents and ends with a coherent editable deliverable. Keep the source material together in a project, ask for a first draft with explicit references, then challenge the assumptions before accepting it. The value is continuity between source material and revisions, not an assurance that the answer is correct. A team should judge it on whether a colleague can inspect the resulting document and trace important claims, rather than on the polish of one reply.
