An announcement with a restricted rollout

Google announced Gemini 4 Carbon on 28 October. Initial access is for a subset of cyber defenders, followed by additional trusted partners through its Fairwind Program. The announcement describes access through general developer, business and consumer products as a later step.

What the performance claims establish

Google presents Carbon as a model for demanding coding and cybersecurity work and publishes benchmark results. Those are vendor-reported evaluations. Fewertools has not reproduced them and is not changing tool scores or declaring a comparative winner.

What this means for someone choosing a model

A Carbon launch headline is not evidence that it appears in a personal Gemini account or a generally available API. Check the exact product and approved access before planning a workflow around it. This report covers availability; it does not replace the separately dated Gemini subscription or API pricing observations.
