Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on Fewer Tools are affiliate links. When you click one and sign up for a tool, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is one of the ways we keep the site running and free to use.
We want to be upfront about this: affiliate revenue helps fund the time it takes to test tools, write reviews, and maintain the site. But it never determines what we recommend.
The short version: We earn commissions from some links. Those commissions never influence our recommendations. If a tool doesn't deserve a spot, no affiliate programme will change that.
Editorial Independence
Fewer Tools is editorially independent. That means:
-
✓
No pay-to-play. Tool companies cannot pay to be listed, featured, or ranked higher. Every tool earns its place through hands-on testing.
-
✓
No sponsored reviews. We don't accept payment in exchange for reviews or coverage. If we write about a tool, it's because we chose to.
-
✓
Affiliate links don't influence rankings. Tools without affiliate programmes are recommended just as often. The "Our Pick" label is based on merit, not revenue potential.
-
✓
Negative reviews exist. If a popular tool doesn't hold up under testing, we say so. Our "Not Yet" rating exists for a reason.
-
✓
Full ownership. Every review is written by
Clinton Feyisitan, the founder. No ghostwriters, no freelancers, no AI-generated filler content.
How Tools Are Selected
Tools appear on Fewer Tools based on one thing: whether they're genuinely useful for early-stage founders. The selection process works like this:
- Category identification - We identify tool categories that founders actually need (not every niche SaaS vertical).
- Market research - We survey the landscape: popular options, under-the-radar alternatives, new entrants.
- Hands-on testing - Every serious contender gets tested with real projects. Not a 10-minute trial - actual use.
- Evaluation - Tools are scored on functionality, pricing value, ease of use, reliability, and founder fit.
- Recommendation - One "Our Pick" per category. Strong alternatives get "Recommended." The rest get "Not Yet" or aren't listed.
For a detailed breakdown of our scoring criteria and rating system, see How We Review Tools.
Data Privacy in Reviews
When we test tools, we create test accounts with test data. We don't use real client data, real customer information, or sensitive business data in our review process.
We don't track which tools you click on for the purpose of profiling or selling data. Standard analytics (page views, popular pages) are collected to improve the site. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Corrections & Updates
We take accuracy seriously. If you spot an error in a review - wrong pricing, outdated features, incorrect information - we want to know about it.
To submit a correction:
- Email us via the contact page with the specific page and the error you've found.
- Include a source or link if possible so we can verify quickly.
- We'll review it and update the page within 48 hours if the correction is valid.
All corrections are noted on the review page with an updated "Last updated" date.
