Affiliate Disclosure

Full transparency about how we use affiliate links and earn commissions.

Last updated: February 2026

The short version: Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click and purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences which tools we recommend. We only feature tools we genuinely believe in.

What Are Affiliate Links?

Affiliate links are special URLs that track when someone clicks through from our site and makes a purchase. If a sale happens, the company pays us a small commission as a thank-you for the referral.

This is one of the primary ways we keep Fewer Tools running and free to use.

How This Affects You

  • No extra cost: You pay the exact same price whether you use our link or go directly to the tool's website
  • Sometimes better deals: Some affiliate partnerships include exclusive discounts for our readers
  • Supporting us: Using our links helps us continue creating free content and recommendations

Our Promise to You

  • Merit first, always: We choose tools based on quality, not commission rates. A tool with no affiliate program can still be our top pick.
  • Honest reviews: We'll call out a tool's weaknesses even if we earn from recommending it.
  • No pay-to-play: Companies cannot pay to be featured or ranked higher.
  • Transparency: We disclose when links may earn us a commission.

Which Links Are Affiliate Links?

Not all links on our site are affiliate links. We use affiliate links when:

  • The tool has an affiliate program we've joined
  • The link goes to a tool's pricing or signup page
  • We're recommending a paid product

Links to free tools, documentation, or educational resources typically aren't affiliate links.

Programs We Participate In

We're members of affiliate and partner programs including:

  • Notion - Affiliate program (50% of first year)
  • Canva - Creator/Affiliate program via Impact
  • Grammarly - Affiliate program
  • Framer - Partner/Creator program (50% for 1 year)
  • Vercel - Partner program
  • Supabase - Integration partner program

This list updates as we join new programs or remove inactive ones.

How We Choose Tools

Our recommendation process is the same whether a tool has an affiliate program or not:

  1. Research: We evaluate features, pricing, user reviews, and alternatives
  2. Testing: Where possible, we use the tools ourselves
  3. Stage matching: We consider what type of user/business the tool is best for
  4. Comparison: We weigh it against alternatives in the same category
  5. Decision: We pick the best option regardless of affiliate status

What We Won't Do

  • Recommend a worse tool because it pays more commission
  • Hide a tool's limitations to make it look better
  • Accept payment to feature or prioritize any tool
  • Create fake reviews or testimonials
  • Recommend tools we haven't researched or wouldn't use ourselves

Questions?
