What AI subscriptions cost in the UK
Every price below was read on the official UK page, or the UK App Store, on 6 November 2026. Pounds where the vendor shows pounds, dollars where it does not, and VAT stated the way the vendor states it.
What the table shows
- Claude costs more in the iPhone app. Max is £90 a month on the web and £119.99 in the App Store, so a year in the app costs £359.88 more. Ultra is £180 against £249.99, and Pro is £18 against £20.00.
- ChatGPT is the other way round, by a penny. Plus is £19.99 in the App Store and £20 on the web; Go is £6.99 against £7.
- Grok and Cursor are now one subscription. Both sell Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra. Grok quotes £7 to £180 a month before VAT, which is £8.40 to £216 with it.
- Paying yearly saves about two months. Claude Pro is £180 a year against £216 paid monthly, and Google AI Pro and Microsoft 365 Premium are both £189.99 a year against £227.88. ChatGPT has no yearly plan for individuals on the web.
- Students pay less or nothing. Eligible UK students get Google AI Plus free for a year, Mistral Pro is $5.99 a month for verified students, and GitHub has a Copilot Student plan.

No yearly plan for individuals on the web: OpenAI says it offers monthly plans for Go and Plus. The App Store also lists a second "ChatGPT Plus" purchase at £200.00 without naming its period. No UK student offer is shown.

Google AI Plus is £4.49 a month on the Gemini page; Google One sells a 2 TB version at £7.99 a month or £79.99 a year. Eligible UK students can get Google AI Plus free for one year. The App Store lists Ultra at £79.99 (20 TB) and £119.99 (30 TB) without naming the usage tier.

The web page shows US dollar prices as a monthly equivalent of yearly billing and no monthly web price. The App Store lists Pro at £20.00 and £200.00 and Max at £200.00 without naming the periods. Both plans carried limited-time Computer credit offers on 6 November.

Grok and Cursor now sell the same four plans. Grok quotes them in pounds before VAT; Cursor quotes them in US dollars before VAT (Plus $8, Premium $30, Super $100, Ultra $200, Teams from $30 a user). Plus includes only Grok models in Cursor. On 6 November Premium, Super and Ultra were half price for the first month. The App Store still lists older SuperGrok plans (Lite £10.00, SuperGrok £30.00, Plus £100.00, Heavy £300.00).

How these prices were read
- Each official pricing page was opened in a browser in the United Kingdom, signed out, on the date shown. The price you see at checkout can still differ, for example after a promotion ends or when tax is added.
- App Store prices come from the UK storefront listing of in-app purchases. Apple does not name each purchase’s billing period there, so a listing is only matched to a plan when its name makes that clear.
- Where a vendor only shows US dollars, the pound figure is a conversion at the European Central Bank reference rate for 5 November 2026 (0.743 pounds to the dollar). Your card may add a foreign exchange fee.
- Limited-time offers are mentioned in the notes but are not used as the headline price.
- Every figure has the exact text we read in the sources list below and in the data file. Archive copies are not linked because archive services usually capture these pages from the United States, where they show dollar prices.
