Vercel AI Gateway: Zero Data Retention now $0.10 per 1k requests on top of model spend
Vercel expanded AI Gateway ZDR coverage to Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and others on 6 April 2026, and at the same time moved team-wide ZDR behind a per-request fee: $0.10 per 1,000 successful requests on Pro and Enterprise. For a million-request-a-month workload that's $100 over and above gateway and model fees, which is small for consumer SaaS but a real line item for high-throughput agent backends. The broader pattern: cloud privacy features ship free during adoption, then move to a meter once enterprise procurement has them in requirements. Stripe did this with Radar, Cloudflare with Bot Management; Vercel is next.

Vercel Pro moved to credit-based usage - Vercel itself estimated ~7% of teams will pay more
Vercel's Pro plan got rearchitected around credits instead of fixed feature limits. For most apps under modest traffic, the bill stays the same. For build-heavy teams or anyone running v0 / AI surfaces on top, the credit model hits faster than the old model would have. Worth checking your last invoice projection. Pulse rule of thumb: when a hosting tool moves to credits, look at the next 3 months of usage and project - don't wait for the bill.
