Our evaluation

Turso is worth examining for an application where local data access or many small databases are central to the design. Its embedded and cloud pieces offer a different operating model from routing every interaction to a single remote database. That is an architectural choice, not an automatic performance improvement. Test the queries and concurrent updates the product actually needs, especially the behavior when two devices change the same record offline. Usage is also more detailed than a server price: rows read, rows written, storage and synchronization can all affect the bill. Good indexes and a narrow sync scope therefore matter commercially as well as technically. Start with a realistic offline workflow and recovery exercise before selecting a tier from database count alone.
