Railway is worth evaluating when the application is a set of services rather than only a frontend. Start with a realistic backend and database connection, then watch resource usage while it is idle and under a small load. Usage billing changes the question from “what is the plan price?” to “what runs continuously, and how much does it consume?” Keep database recovery and regional placement in the decision. Its visual service view can help a small team understand deployment relationships, but you still need a clear owner for backups, alerts and incident recovery.
