Our evaluation
Loom is a good fit when showing the screen would answer a question faster than composing a long message or scheduling a meeting. The useful unit is a focused explanation with a clear next action, not a growing library of unsearchable recordings. I would keep a bug report or design walkthrough short, link the relevant work item and write the decision in text after discussion. Captions and comments help colleagues consume the explanation on their own schedule. Unlimited recording length is rarely the reason to upgrade; removal of a real publishing or editing limit is stronger. AI packaging can reduce housekeeping, but it still needs checking. If the same explanation is watched repeatedly, consider turning its durable instructions into a maintained document as well.
