Lex is closed to new customers. Its official homepage says existing accounts continue as usual. The effective change date is not stated; 17 October is our observation date.
The evaluation and pricing scope below remain historical. New visitors should not treat the trial worksheet as a way to open an account. Existing-account behavior and current paid prices were not tested. Availability receipt.
Our evaluation
Lex has a narrower and more useful proposition than another general chat window: keep the draft itself at the center of the work. Comments, versions and AI feedback can support a deliberate revision cycle without scattering suggestions across several tools. I would ask it to explain a weak transition or identify an unsupported premise before requesting a rewrite, because replacing the whole passage can conceal the writer's actual decision. It suits someone who already has material and wants to refine it, rather than a team seeking a full knowledge-management system. The buying decision is presently less transparent: the public pricing page asks existing users to log in. Confirm the exact plan and cancellation terms in-account before making Lex part of a paid writing routine.
