Docker raised Pro 80% and Team 67% - Hacker News and the Docker subreddit lit up
Docker's playing the same incumbent-monetisation card as Mailchimp: the install base is captive, so squeeze. Pro went from $5 to $9, Team from $9 to $15 per seat per month. For a small team, that's still negligible. For a 50-person engineering org, that's a serious annual line item - and it's the kind of unilateral hike that nudges teams to evaluate Orbstack (Mac, free desktop) or Podman (open-source replacement). We're keeping Docker as Recommended for now, but Orbstack moves to a stronger Pick recommendation for Mac-first teams.
