Descript is a strong candidate for interview, tutorial or podcast editing where the spoken argument determines the cut. Working from a transcript can make a first pass more approachable, while still requiring someone to listen for unnatural joins and preserve the speaker’s meaning. It should not be selected merely because an AI co-editor can produce a draft: review time, export needs and the amount of imported media determine whether the workflow fits. Long recordings consume media allowance before they become short finished pieces, and generative operations have a separate credit budget. Test with your own accents and technical terms, then judge the complete edit and handoff rather than the transcript alone. Keep original media available for corrections.
