A limited Research rollout

OpenAI’s 30 October release note introduces GPT-6 Rosalind Research for multistep life-sciences work. It is rolling out to a limited set of approved Research customers in Work, Codex and the API. It is not available in Chat.

Approval belongs to a scope

The access guide separates Discovery and Research approvals. Discovery does not grant Research access, and an approved ChatGPT workspace does not automatically approve another API organisation. Installation of a Codex plugin is also insufficient on its own. Enterprise workspaces start with a two-week Admin Preview, off by default.

What to establish before planning a workflow

Confirm the approved organisation, named users, model, product and activation status with the responsible administrator. The guide restricts API access to approved internal research uses; the Academic Plan does not include API access or credits. A normal consumer subscription or university email address is not evidence of eligibility.

What we checked

Fewertools read the release note and access guide on 31 October. No application, biological workflow, model response or price was tested. This report makes no claim about scientific accuracy or an organisation’s eligibility.
