What changed

Google’s 29 October announcement brings file generation, preview and editing into Gemini conversations. The documented controls include direct typing in a full-screen view and selecting text for Gemini to revise.

Choose the surface for the file

PDF preview and editing is supported on web and mobile. Google lists Docs, Sheets, slide decks, Markdown, plain text and code as web-only. The announcement says the capabilities are available to all users in supported Gemini languages and locations; it does not establish a new paid-plan requirement.

A practical check before using it

For an essay or report, check that the selected device supports the intended file format. Then review the resulting wording, references and layout before sharing. Fewertools has not executed an upload, edit or export, so this report cannot establish formatting fidelity or output accuracy.
